The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a case against five people including Rajiv Rimal, head of Water and Energy Development Office Mugu, on charges of corruption by obtaining illegal benefits.
In the financial year 2078/79, the pipeline work of Ner irrigation project of Mugu's Soru Rural Municipality-5 was supposed to be 1,700 meters, but only half of it was done, and an amount equal to five lakh 61,481 rupees was overpaid.
The Commission has claimed a bad demand of Rs 5 lakh 61 thousand 481 against office head Rimal, sub-engineer Nar Bahadur Lawad, consumer committee chairman Tej Bahadur Shahi, vice chairman Hira Bahadur Shahi and secretary Tirtha Bahadur Shahi. Narahari Ghimire, the spokesperson of the commission informed that action has been demanded against the accused.
