The Nepali Congress has not decided the party's candidate for the by-election. Although a meeting was held on Tuesday to discuss the candidates to be nominated by the party in the by-elections to be held in Ilam Region No. 2 and Bajhang Region No. 1 of Province 'A' on the 15th of Baisakh, the candidates could not be selected.
Meen Bahadur Bishwakarma, head of the Congress's propaganda department, said that despite the meeting of the party's parliamentary board and central performance committee for the by-elections, they could not decide on the candidate.
'There was an intensive discussion about the candidates today, there was a discussion among the aspirants who came to the center after being recommended by the party for the by-elections and they will decide on the candidate tomorrow,' he said. Department head Vishwakarma informed.
Congress officials, ex-officers and top leaders also held a discussion on Monday evening to discuss the candidates to be nominated by the party in the by-elections.
The Election Commission has fixed the date for registration of candidate nomination papers on March 24 for the by-elections to be held on May 15. Nepal Communist Party (UML), Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RAPPA) and others have decided their party candidates.
