Prada Kesharjung Baral has been appointed as the 20th Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University. The Office of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor of the Tertiary University appointed Baral, the former vice-chancellor of Pokhara University, as the vice-chancellor of the Tertiary University on Thursday.
Baral is a professor in the Faculty of Management. He graduated from Delhi University, India. Baral, a professor at Prithvi Narayan Campus in Pokhara, was the Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University from 2064 to 2068.
The selection committee chaired by Education Minister Ashok Kumar Rai recommended the names of Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki and Tankanath Dhamala along with Baral.
Out of the 43 who applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor, 14 were selected for the presentation and interview, and three names were recommended for appointment after the presentation and interview. It is said that the appointment was made on the basis of educational qualifications, training, research articles, interviews and presentations.
