On this day (June 29) in 2007, Apple Company's first smartphone 'iPhone' went on sale. On January 9, 2007, sales of the first iPhone models to the public began on June 29. The then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Steve Jobs, announced the phone.
The price of the first iPhone smartphone was set at USD 499 for 4 GB and USD 599 for 8 GB. The iPhone's operating system, iOS 3.1.3, had a 3.5-inch display and a single 2-megapixel camera.
The company launched the second model of the phone a year later. It was named iPhone 3G. Although it supports 3G network, the price of the phone was lower than before. In a long journey of more than a decade and a half, Apple has released the 15th iPhone model for the last time.
