Opposition India Alliance has protested in Delhi against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other opposition leaders. The opposition leaders have accused the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of jeopardizing the country's democracy in a rally held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi with the slogan 'Save democracy'.

The opposition leaders also mentioned that if Modi wins the election for the third time, he will end democracy completely.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the BJP was doing 'match fixing' before the elections. He mentioned that sending two chief ministers of the opposition to jail and freezing the bank accounts of the Congress did not allow the electoral field to remain level.

If this had to be done, would it have been done 6 months before or after the election? No, BJP had to do it now. Because match-fixing can happen in the election,' he said, 'if the BJP wins the election and changes the constitution, the whole country is going to be on fire.'

. "The government is trying to hold elections by buying players and scaring captains," he said.

He also raised questions about the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). He said that Modi gave the slogan of passing 400 seats on the strength of EVM, but in reality BJP is not in a position to cross 180 seats. He said that even if the mouth of the media is closed, the government cannot stop the voice of the common people. The leaders of all the parties affiliated to the India Alliance addressed the

program. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav opposed Kejriwal's arrest. If BJP is crossing 400 seats, is BJP afraid of Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Kejriwal, he asked. He said that the democracy for which India has been getting respect in the world, BJP has taken it in the opposite direction. Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy chief minister of Bihar, compared the guarantees given by Modi to Chinese goods. Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren (arrested by ED a few months ago) and Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, also addressed the

event.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Kejriwal a few weeks ago on charges of corruption by introducing liquor policy in Delhi and Jharkhand Chief Minister Soren two months ago on charges of scamming government land. Both are now in ED custody. Kejriwal has tried to run the government of Delhi from jail without resigning from the post of Chief Minister.

Congress president Malliakarjun Khadge, former Maharashtra chief minister Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Jammu and Kashmir leader Farooq Abdullah, National Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, communist leader Sitaram Yechury and dozens of leaders attacked the BJP in the opposition meeting. Trimul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee was not present at the event. Other representatives from his party spoke.
