Nepal Police School Sanga has won the title of the first inter-school Armed Police Inspector General Running Football Tournament. Police won the title by defeating the host Nepal APF School 'A' in sudden death in the finals held on Tuesday.

In the final held at the Nepal APF School ground in Panga, Kirtipur, neither team could score a goal in the allotted 60 minutes. After that, the game went directly to the penalty shootout. Even then, after both teams could only score 4-4, the police ended the challenge of APF School with the second penalty of sudden death.

Police goalkeeper Dipsan Periyar became the hero in the penalty shootout. Even in the scheduled match, he saved four good shots of APF from scoring and stopped one shot in the penalty shootout. In the competition held on the occasion of the 19th Foundation Day of Nepal APF School, Dipsan was the best player in the final and won the best goalkeeper title.

Tenzing Sherpa of APF School was the best player of the tournament, Digvijay Shahi of Sainik Residential College was the highest scorer and Sainik College was given the title of disciplined team. The winner Police was awarded 30,000 and the runner-up APF was awarded 20,000.

The winning players were awarded by Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal, Additional Inspector General of Armed Police Chandra Prakash Gautam and others. APF Principal Yuvraj Parajuli, School Commander Armed Police Deputy Superintendent Rajendra Guragain said that the competition will be continued. A total of 19 schools, including two from the organizer APF, participated in the competition, which started on January 22.
