Chief Minister of Wagmati taking vote of confidence

The ruling United Samajwadi Party (S) is increasing pressure on Sunday by deciding not to support the 'status quo' on Chief Minister Jamkattel, who is gaining a majority by making MP Shailendraman Bajracharya, who has 2 seats in the House.

The power of Chief Minister Jamkattele has reached a minority deal after it was decided not to give a vote of confidence to the leader of the Maoist Center Parliamentary Party in the 'status quo' meeting of the parliamentary party held on Sunday. On Saturday, Jamkattel made Parliamentary Party leader Jagannath Thapalia participate in the government from the major party UML.

With HANEPA and UML participating in the government, Chief Minister Jamkattel was seen strong in arithmetic. After the sudden collapse of S, Jamkattel's leadership of the government has come to a standstill. UML has 27 votes, Maoist Center 21 votes, SCO 7 votes, and our Nepali Party 2 votes in favor of Jammakatta to reach a majority of 56 MPs. If Sunday's decision is implemented, Jamkattel will not have a majority. Hanepa has also said that it will not give a vote of confidence. However, Bajracharya, one of the MPs of this party, took the stand of a vote of confidence and the government was in the majority.

Congress, RPP, Nemkipa have already decided to vote against in Wagmati. There are 37 MPs from Congress, 13 from RPP and 3 from Nemkipa. Krishna Sharma Khanal, the leader of the S Parliamentary Party, said that they were forced to stand in favor of not giving a vote of confidence because the allocation of shares was not finalized in all the provinces and it was not certain that there would be equal participation in the negotiations.

'Whatever decision the Maoist center and UML make, we do not have to accept those decisions. The vote of confidence needs to be taken not only in this province but also in other provinces. Therefore, we will not stand for the vote of confidence until we agree on which province will be led by whom," said Khanal.

S has also signed the 5-point agreement issued by the power partner parties last Thursday. It was signed by Rajendraman Shrestha, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Along with the signing, Minister Shrestha was invited by the party to Kathmandu. Among the top leaders of the party, he criticized himself for entering into an agreement without the approval of the party leader.

The issue of participation in the government has also raised controversy in Hanepa. Controversy arose within the party after Bajracharya, the leader of the HANEPA parliamentary party, became the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Cooperatives with a commitment to support the government, flouting the party's decision. The dispute within Hanepa regarding participation in the government has reached its climax. The party had decided to participate only if it got a Chief Minister, otherwise it would remain in the opposition. However, HANEPA leader Bajracharya joined the government and became a minister against the decision of the party.

Hanepa president Anantaraj Ghimire has given a vote of confidence to Jamkattel and has already warned his MPs of action. "The UML and Maoists have kidnapped our MPs politically and made them ministers. We did not support this government. Our MP is not in touch with us," he said. Ghimire says that his party will not give a vote of confidence to the government.

Ghimire said that one of the two MPs from his party is in regular contact and Bajracharya is the only one who remains out of touch. According to the decision made by the central committee of our party on 3rd and 3rd of Chait, we will not participate in the government. MPs are not above the decision of the party," he said. He said that MP Bajracharya is taking legal advice for action.

On February 23, after the Congress recalled its 6 ministers and withdrew its support to the government, Jamkattel was forced to take a vote of confidence. Chief Minister Jamkattel has responded that he is confident of getting the vote of confidence because he has a majority in the ruling coalition. He said that due to the coalition government, it is natural to see some disagreements.
