The ritual of Chaite Chhath has started from Friday. The fasting people have started the 'Naha Khay' ritual on Friday. On this day, after taking bath, the fasting people eat pure and cooked dal, rice and gourd vegetables. The fasting people will not have Tamasi food from today.

Rani Gupta, a faster from Birgunj-10 Ranighat, said that the fasters eat kheer (juice) prepared from sakhkhar, milk and rice on Saturday evening and observe a non-water fast for the whole day on Sunday. This year's Chaite Chhath festival will end after offering argah to the setting sun on Sunday evening and the rising sun on Monday morning.

When there is one fasting person in the house, the whole family is involved in helping the fasting person. Chhath puja is believed to bring good luck and get children as well as cure skin diseases.
