If land is available, the government will build an exhibition venue: Chief Minister Karki

While inaugurating the 51st Annual General Meeting of Industry Organization Morang on Friday, Karki said that if the required land is available, the state government will build the exhibition venue. He mentioned that the industrialists of this area have been demanding for an exhibition venue for a long time, but they have not been addressed by the federal government.

The private sector here has been complaining that Sunsari Morang Industrial Corridor, which accounts for 10 percent of the country's total domestic production and foreign trade, has been completely neglected by the budget of Koshi Province this time. In the budget of 35 billion 27 billion 93 million rupees for the fiscal year 2081/82 announced by the minister of economic affairs and planning of the province Ram Bahadur Magar last Saturday, there is silence about the development of Sunsari Morang industrial area.

Stating that the state government alone cannot do anything, Karki asked the industrialists to join hands with the state government for industrial development. "Most of the problems faced by industrialists in this area are related to the federal government," Karki said, "The state government is ready to play the role of guardian to take initiative with the federal government to solve those problems."

Chiranjeevi Nepal, former governor and consultant of the organization, suggested that the state should give industrialists the status of the first citizen and make them participate in policy making. Mentioning that there are 26 types of tax titles in other countries and 46 types of tax titles in Nepal, he said that the state should treat the private sector that pays taxes under that title as first class citizens and make them participate in policy making. He said that the country should not run on sentiment but on reality.
