Elephant found dead in Jhapa

Local farmers have built electric fences from house to house to protect their crops. The police suspect that the elephant died after falling into the trap of the same fence.

In the past three months, half a dozen wild elephants have been killed in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari. Some were shot dead. Most of them have been found dead after falling into electric traps.
