Meeting between Vice President Yadav and Ambassador Hasmi of Pakistan

According to Vice President Yadav's Secretariat, bilateral relations, trade and economic cooperation, educational and cultural cooperation and regional and international cooperation were discussed in the meeting held at the Vice President's office in Lainchour. Vice President Yadav said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on March 20, 1960, Nepal and Pakistan have had close and harmonious relations. He said, "We have established the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) at the Finance Minister level and the Bilateral Political Consultation Mechanism (BCM) at the Foreign Secretary level." It is necessary to continue dialogue and communication through these mechanisms.'

He also said that the exchange of high-level visits between the two countries has always increased the dynamics and quality in all aspects of our relations. Vice President Yadav emphasized that Nepal and Pakistan should expand cooperation in trade and economic fields. Vice President Yadav expressed concern that the Hindu-Kush Himalaya region of South Asia is facing the adverse effects of global warming and climate change.

Ambassador Hasmi mentioned that the relationship between Nepal and Pakistan is very strong and said that the two countries should move forward together. It is mentioned in the press note issued by the Vice President's Office that he stressed that the suspended air service should be resumed between Nepal and Pakistan.
