Sarthak Karki's novel 'Ijazatpatra' has been published. Former Chief Secretary Bimal Koirala, critic Kumari Lama and critic and editor Rajkumar Baniyan launched Karki's novel license during an event in Kathmandu.
This is the first story of Karki working in Nepal Rastra Bank. Former Chief Secretary Koirala said that in the novel license, the issue of how much the state machinery makes the people confused while serving the people has been exposed in a simple way. Koirala said that the book raises the question of whether the state is a protector or a controller. He said, 'The theme of the novel is poignant, it is the best poem of Nepali literature.'
Critic Lama said that the novel beautifully depicts the suffering imposed on the citizens by the administrative system of Nepal. Lama said, 'There is a lot of dark humor in this novel. It has presented not only administration but also art, literature, philosophy and spirituality in an equally hurtful way.'
reviewer and editor Bania said that even though license is the first novel, Karki has given great narrative to Nepali literature. Baniyan praised Karki's writing saying that a responsible writer has emerged in Nepali literature. The price of the license published by Sangrila Books is 295 rupees.
