Minister of Youth and Sports Virajbhakta Shrestha has informed that an arrangement has been made to give prize money to international medal winners through bank accounts from next year.
Minister Shrestha said that the government has announced the award for the international medal winning athletes but it has not yet been given.
In the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Minister Shrestha informed that a monthly allowance of 6,000 has also been arranged for medal winners in Asian and Saag sports in the budget of the next financial year.
"For the international medal winning athletes, according to the provisions of the National Sports Development Regulations, 2079, a budget of 43.5 million has been allocated. From the coming year, an arrangement has been made to give the prize money to the medal winners through the bank account," Minister Shrestha said, "The budget has been allocated to provide a monthly allowance of 6,000 to 357 athletes participating in the Olympics, medal winners in the Asian Games, and gold medal winners in the Green Sports. is .'
Minister Shrestha also said that conditional grant programs at the state and local levels could not be included in the budget.
