Nepalese Taekwondo Academy (NTA) and Sundarimai Taekwondo Dojang Nepal have honored Taekwondo Grand Master Diwakar Maharjan on Thursday. Napliz Taekwondo Academy President and International Taekwondo Judge Ashok Khadka presented the honor to Maharjan.

Grand Master Maharjan was honored for his continuous contribution to the promotion and development of Nepali Taekwondo, NTA said. Maharjan has been living in America for almost three decades.

Grandmaster Maharjan has dedicated his life to Taekwondo and promised to continue supporting Nepali Taekwondo and athletes.

Maharjan, who received the double eighth dan, has been conducting the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championship (IOFTC). IOFTC is held every two years in different countries.

This year, 6 players from Nepal have been selected for the 14th IOFTC to be held in Seoul, South Korea. Maharjan came to Nepal for the Friendship Open National Taekwondo Tournament organized for the selection of the said players.
