The first edition of the Lumbini Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament will be held on Saturday. The first match will be between Madhesh and Koshi. District Volleyball Association President Raju Gurung informed that the second match will be between Karnali Province and Gandaki Province, while the third match will be between Wagmati and Koshi Province.
The fourth match will be between APF Club of Armed Police Force and Lumbini Province and the fifth match will be between Sudurpaschim Province and Madhesh Province. Lumbini, Bagmati and Armed Police Force have won the three matches held earlier on Friday. Wagmati defeated Sudurpaschim, APF defeated Karnali and Lumbini defeated Gandaki Pradesh in straight sets. Out of the eight groups participating in
, APF Club, Karnali Province, Lumbini Province and Gandaki Province are on Group 'A' side, while Bagmati Province, Sudurpaschim Province, Madhesh Province and Koshi Province are on Group 'B' side. National Sports Council Lumbini is the main sponsor, District Sports Development Committee Palpa coordinated and organized by District Volleyball Association Palpa, the competition is played on the basis of Lick Knockout.
The winners of the first, second, third and consolation groups of the competition, which will be held until February 22, will receive trophies, medals and certificates along with cash prizes of 250,000, 150,000, 75,000 and 35,000 respectively President of District Sports Development Committee Palpa Deepak Ghimire informed.
