An open veterans badminton tournament will be held in Fidim of Panchthar from Wednesday along with the state level badminton tournament. The organizer District Sports Development Committee Panchthar informed in a press conference that all the preparations for the competition have been completed.
Santosh Moktan, Chairman of the District Sports Development Committee, said that the tournament will be organized by the Provincial Sports Development Board and Fidim Municipality and will be conducted with the technical support of the Badminton Association. It has been confirmed that players from 14 districts of Koshi will compete in the
competition. Jasma will compete in 5 categories namely men's single, women's single, men's double, women's double and mixed double. It is said that 68 players of 5 categories, 14 coaches and managers will participate in the competition. Moktan also said that the winners of the competition will be awarded 20, 10 and 5 thousand in cash for the first, second and third in each category.
Similarly, for veterans, players from all over the country will be able to participate. It is said that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in the competition will get prizes of 30, 15 and 5 thousand respectively. Organizers estimate that the
competition will cost 18 lakh rupees.
