400 KV transmission lines are being constructed in Karnali and Sudurpaschim

The National Transmission Grid Company is going to build a transmission line with the aim of meeting the domestic demand and exporting electricity by connecting about 3,000 megawatts of electricity produced by hydropower projects such as Fukot-Karnali, Paya-Karnali and Tila to the national transmission system. Netraprasad Gyawali, the chief executive officer of the company, said on the occasion of the foundation stone laying of the tower, the length of the double circuit transmission line, which will be built internationally from the mountains to the Terai, will be 125 km, the construction cost will be 8 billion and the construction will be completed in 3 years.

Chief Executive Officer Gyawali said that this transmission line to be built by National Broadcasting Grid Company Limited is one of the national transformational projects. "Under this project, the transmission line is going to be extended through Kalikot and Surkhet in Karnali province as well as Achham and Kailali in Far West," said Chief Executive Officer Gyawali.

Kalikot's Triveni Rural Municipality, Narharinath Rural Municipality, Achham's Panchadeval Vinayak Municipality, Kamalbazar Municipality, Turmakhad Rural Municipality, Surkhet's Choukune Rural Municipality and Kailali's Mohanyal, Bardagoria, Joshipur Rural Municipality and Bhajani Municipality. The total length of the project is 125 km. According to him, a 125 km transmission line will be constructed at Fukot, Paya and Dododhara through Fukot, Surkhet Pay and Kailali Dododhara in the Far West to Karmadeo located on the Nepal-India border and new 400/132/33 KV substations will be constructed at Fukot, Paya and Dododhara. "Construction of this transmission line project, which will have 256 towers, is going to be started from AP-191," he said while giving information about the project at the foundation-laying event.

The national manager of the project, Viken Bajracharya, informed that a contract agreement was signed with the Indian company Kalpataru Project International Limited on January 11, 2079 for the construction of 400 KV double circuit transmission line. According to him, the preliminary environmental study of the project has been completed, the check survey of the Fukot, pay and Dododhara transmission line sections, the detailed survey and the tower spotting have been completed.

Likewise, Bajracharya said that the contract with NEA Engineering Company has been completed and the design work is in the final stage. He said that the project will be completed in the year 2083/84. At the foundation stone ceremony, Minister Basnet said that the transmission line is the main infrastructure for the development of the energy sector. Asserting that the energy sector is developing rapidly, he informed that while currently 34/3500 megawatts of electricity are being produced in the country, 28,500 megawatts will be produced easily in the next 12 years. Stating that there is no infrastructure to produce and broadcast

, Minister Basnet said that corridors like Seti, Bheri and others will be built like the Karnali corridor.
