A pregnant woman of Saipal Rural Municipality has been rescued by helicopter.
26-year-old Supari Kumari Bohra of Saipal 4, Dhuligaon was rescued by helicopter and sent to Surkhet after she failed to give birth. Health workers said that Bohra, who came to the local Dhuli health post for treatment after heavy bleeding, had a 34-week-old baby in her womb. Village Vice President Dolma Tamang said that she was rescued by a helicopter because of excessive bleeding before delivery.
Chief District Officer Vishwamitra Kuinkel said that she was rescued free of charge under the President's Women Upliftment Program. Dhuli is the last human settlement on the northern border of Bajhang. Every year three/four pregnant women are being rescued from Saipal, which has not been touched by the road network so far.
