The local administration has taken interest in removing the houses built by encroaching on public land within the headquarters of Khalanga. District Administration Office Jajarkot has issued an ultimatum to vacate the encroached land within 35 days after publishing the notice.

Administration's ultimatum to vacate encroached land

The administration said that even the land in the name of the public prosecutor's office and the district court at Bheri Municipality-3 Thaple has been encroached upon and has given instructions to remove the illegally constructed houses.

Similarly, about 52 persons who have encroached on the forest area and public land and constructed private structures in Bheri-3 Thaple and 4 Shanti Chautara Bus Park have been issued notices to remove their houses. It is also mentioned in the notice that if it is not removed within 35 days, the Local Administration Act, 2028 and the prevailing legal rights will be recovered from the concerned including the expenses incurred in removing the house.

A complaint was filed in the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission about encroachment on government, forest and public land of the district headquarters. According to the letter dated 24th of July 2080 of the authority and the letter of the Ministry of Home Affairs dated 6th of August including lot number 1, 151, 139, 140, 144, 136, 167, 252, 253, 254, 276 and 277 located at different locations of Bheri-3 and 4 of Jajarkot. Lands have been encroached by various people. Chief District Officer Suresh Sunar said that according to the all-party meeting held on October 4 and February 17, a 35-day notice was given to remove the encroached structure.

Especially in Bheri-3 and 4 Thanti Chowk road area, Mulbato area from Hanuman Basic School to Thaple, private houses built on the land registered in the name of Batuk Bhairav, encroached land between Shanti Chowk and Thaple road, encroached land on veterinary line connected to Dolpa road section , Prazia Sunar said that it has been decided to remove the houses built on the encroached land from Baglung Hotel to Thanti, in Ranagaon and on the encroached land from New Road to Lower Thaple. If the

decision is implemented, at least 52 houses, including the building of the Jajarkot branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, built in the public sector, will be demolished. According to him, instructions have been given to remove the encroachment on the land of Lot No. 252 in the name of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Lot No. 253 and 254 in the name of the District Court.

Similarly, Prazia Sunar said that he had instructed to remove the structures built on the roadside near the Khirkhire community building between Ghartahara and the road leading from Shanti Chautara to Thaple.

It was found that the land in the name of the district court and the public prosecutor was sold to another person in the name of a person with the connivance of the employees. After a case was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the sale of government land by usurpation, the Supreme Court again maintained it in the name of the office. Even now more than 7 people are living in that land.

was directed to remove all of them, said Prazia Sunar. During the armed conflict, most of the public land was encroached on in the name of displaced people.
