The newly appointed 7 ministers of Lumbini will take the oath of office and confidentiality on Thursday at 5 pm. A swearing-in program has been arranged at the office of Provincial Chief Amik Sherchan in Butwal. Lumbini Chief Minister Jokh Bahadur Mahara appointed 7 people as non-departmental ministers on Thursday.
The newly appointed ministers are Gulmi Constituency 2 (2) MP Dinesh Panthi from UML, Kapilvastu Constituency 3 (1) MP Arjun Kumar KC, Rupandehi Constituency 5 (1) MP Bhumishwar Dhakal and Banke Constituency 3 (1) MP Ratna Bahadur Khatri Bina has been appointed as a departmental minister.
Similarly, party leader Bardiya Constituency 2 (2) from Civil Immunity Party MP Dharma Bahadur Chaudhary and Bhagwati Adhikari of Rupandehi of CPN SK and independent MP Khadak Basnet of Constituency 2 (1) of Nawalparasi have also become departmental ministers.
Mahara, who was appointed as the Chief Minister on March 23, appointed Chetnarayan Acharya, Member of Parliament of Arghakhanchi Constituency 1 (1) from UML and deputy leader of the party, Chetnarayan Acharya as Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, Dipendra Kumar Pun, Member of Parliament of Rolpa Constituency 1 (2) from Maoist, along with the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Jaspa. Constituency 2 (1) Member of Parliament Bhandarilal Ahir has been assigned the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management by Chief Minister Mahara.
According to Pun, the government spokesperson, the responsibilities of the ministry will be assigned in two/three days after the non-departmental ministers are sworn in. So far, the number of ministries in Lumbini has reached 11.
