On Thursday afternoon, Rupandehi police seized 350 bags of bananas that had been imported by evading customs.

On the basis of special information, Talley, who was assigned from the District Police Office, Rupandehi, said that the banana was seized from Sidwarthnagar Municipality-4, Sugarmill.

According to Superintendent of Police Ranjit Singh Rathore, Head of District Police Office, investigations have revealed that 45 bales of corn were imported from Suthainli Customs in Kapilvastu and a large quantity of bananas were imported there.

When checking the truck number UP15CT8198, which is said to have roasted corn, 3 hundred and 5 bags of bananas worth 1.5 million 25 thousand were recovered. Only 45 bales of corn worth 86 thousand 625 rupees in the truck were found to have been cleared by customs.

The police said that the seized corn, bananas and a truck worth 1.8 million have been handed over to the customs of 34 lakh 11 thousand 625 rupees.
