Six houses were burnt down in a fire in a Dalit settlement in Basbaria. Five other houses were partially damaged by the fire.
A fire broke out in Basabaria rural municipality-3 bungalow on Monday afternoon. According to the police, the house of Vindeshwar Majhi, Narayan Majhi, Dinesh Majhi, Joku Majhi and Naresh Rai was completely burnt to ashes due to the fire that started from the house of local Ram Vishwas Majhi. The police said that the fire caused partial damage to the houses of 5 other people.
According to the locals, the gas cylinder in the house of Ram Vishwas burst into flames. The fire has been brought under control with the help of local and fire engines from Hariwan and Malangwa municipalities, according to the district police office.
In addition to the fire, 6 houses were burnt down and the food and clothes kept in the house were also burnt to ashes. It is estimated that the fire caused a loss of millions. However, the exact details of the damage have not yet arrived. After the house was destroyed in the fire, the Dalit and poor families were devastated. They have reached under the open sky.
