CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the Federal Democratic Republic, obtained from the long struggle of the people, has ensured their political rights.
On the occasion of the 17th Republic Day, President Nepal, while issuing a message of greetings, mentioned that the current governance system has provided equal opportunities to all citizens, and that the development of the country and the prosperity of the people can be achieved through an inclusive, proportional democratic system with social justice.
Paying homage to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the democratic movement, he emphasized on the need to amend the necessary policies and legal arrangements to bring the benefits of change to the people.
Chairman Nepal mentioned that the constitution has institutionalized democratic values including the concept of a legal state and envisioned a system oriented towards socialism. Emphasizing the need to implement socialism to build a prosperous nation, he pointed out the need for cooperation, unity and coordination among the transformative forces.
President Nepal mentioned in his greeting message that all levels of the state as well as all citizens should develop democratic culture for the social and economic transformation of the people, increase in production, equitable distribution, employment promotion and good governance.
