26 billion 63 crore rupees have been allocated to the Ministry of Water Supply for the next financial year. Presenting the budget for the next financial year, Finance Minister Varshman Pun informed that 26 billion 63 crore rupees have been allocated for the Ministry of Water Supply.

Finance Minister Pun said that the water distribution system expansion work will be carried forward in the areas outside the ring road in Kathmandu Valley. Minister Pun also informed that a budget of 50 million rupees has been allocated for the Melamchi water supply project. He said that an additional 444,000 people will benefit from the expansion of drinking water facilities in the coming financial year.

Finance Minister Pun said that Dhobighat treatment center with a capacity of 370 million liters of waste water will be put into operation. Similarly, it has been mentioned in the budget that the construction of waste water treatment plant will be started in Dhobighat, Balkumari and Sallaghari.
