Nepal has committed to join the "Global Alliance of Social Justice" called by the International Labor Organization (ILO). Last June, the 111th International Labor Conference of the ILO called for joining the Global Alliance for Social Justice.

In the tripartite consultation between the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, Joint Trade Union Coordinating Committee (JTUC) and ILO on Tuesday, the government, employers and trade unions pledged to join the global alliance.

'We recognize that a global coalition for social justice is very important . The Government of Nepal will complete the necessary process by further consulting the relevant partners and stakeholders to join the coalition for social justice," said Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharad Singh Bhandari.

The government of 6 countries, 6 trade unions and three employers' organizations have joined this alliance. Only Pakistan is included from the SAARC region . Nepal Trade Union Federation (GIFANT) and All Nepal Trade Union Federation (ANTUF) have joined from Nepal.
