Demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, Nepal Students' Association Prithvi Narayan Campus unit committee burnt an effigy in Pokhara on Thursday. The Navy has burnt the effigy of Home Minister Lamichhane for being involved in co-operative fraud and influencing the investigation as Home Minister.
Vivek Timilsina, Vice-Chairman of the Union Unit, said that Home Minister Lamichhane, instead of forming a Cooperative Inquiry Committee, seized the media for raising the issue of cooperative victims.
'Instead of investigating the co-operative fraud and returning the money of the savers, it was seen that the Home Minister is playing a game of saving power in the Giribandhu Tea State scandal,' he said in a corner meeting held at the gate at Prithvi Narayan Campus, 'We will not hold back any kind of movement to bring justice to the co-operative victims.'
