The absconding defendant in the duty killing case in Bhojpur has been arrested after 17 years.
Police arrested 60-year-old Chandra Bahadur Tamang from Dharan on Tuesday on the charge of murdering Nima Dawa Sherpa of Bhojpur Bhainsipankha in October 2063.
An arrest warrant was issued against the defendant Tamang by District Court Bhojpur in August 2080. Sudipraj Pathak, Chief of District Police Office Bhojpur, who succeeded in arresting him on 11 Baisakh 2081 during the search, informed the police.
The arrested Tamang was released by the police on Wednesday.
