Koshi region has won the title of the first inter-province women's wheelchair basketball tournament. Koshi won the title by defeating Lumbini Pradesh with a score of 8 to 5 in the final held at Itahari in Sunsari on Saturday.
Koshi tied the score 2-2 in the first quarter and took a 2-0 lead in the second quarter.
Koshi was trailing Lumbini by a score of 3-2 in the third quarter and managed to become the winner by making a score of 2-0 in the last quarter. Koshi, the winner of the competition organized by Spinal Injury Association of Koshi Province and with the main support of Koshi Province Sports Development Board, received 25,000 cash along with the title.
runner-up Lumbini got 20,000. In the tournament, Rajni Rai from Koshi Pradesh was not declared the high scorer along with the best player. All 6 provinces except Madhesh province participated in the competition which lasted for two days.
