The first Sahana Pradhan Memorial U-19 Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament has started at Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwar.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the competition on Sunday. On the first day for women, Lumbini defeated Madhesh Pradesh 25-14, 25-12, 25-13 and Lumbini's Aarti Chaudhary was the player of the match.
In Sunday's men's match, Wagmati and Koshi Pradesh got success. Despite losing the first set, Wagmati lost against Madhesh Pradesh 23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-17. Vijayajung Budha of Wagmati became the player of the match in this match.
Koshi Pradesh won the match against Lumbini in a competitive set. Koshi lost the first two sets 26-24, 25-22 when the result was 3-2. Then returning to the game, Koshi won the opening match by winning the set 25-23, 25-20, 15-12.
The main sponsor is YY of CG Foods and the media partner of the tournament is Kantipur Max Television of KMG. The matches are being telecast live from Kantipur Max.
The winner of both sides of the competition, which will run until June 15, will receive Rs 3 lakh, the second runner-up will receive Rs 2 lakh, and the third runner-up will receive Rs 1 lakh. According to the organizers, the best players of both categories will get Rs. 25,000 each and the best in each category will get Rs.
