Jagdamba Steel's 14th win at Simra Stadium, Macchindra Club has entered the semi-finals with a hard-fought victory against Tribhuvan Army Club in the Simra Gold Cup held on Tuesday. Machindra entered the semi-finals with a tough 1-0 win against Army in the flood light match.
Saurabh Limbu managed to score the only decisive goal in the 69th minute of Machindra's victory. In the 63rd minute of the game, Saurabh Limbu was able to direct the ball towards the goalpost from outside the D-box after Bimal Ghartimar passed the ball from Abhishek Gurung's center line. Saurabh scored a beautiful goal by beating Army goalkeeper Kuthu who arrived outside the D-area to stop Machindra's effort. In the 88th minute of the
game, Machindra missed the chance to double the lead. After Army's defender Bimal Pandey tackled Machchindra's Bimal Ghartimagar inside the D-box, ANFA referee Umesh Bidari gave Machchindra a penalty chance. Machindra's Devendra Tamang's penalty shot went over the crossbar. Machindra had the last struggle to save the lead when he lost the opportunity he got at the end of the game.
In a competitive game, both teams created attractive opportunities but had to wait for the first goal for 69 minutes.
Manish Dangi of Machchindra Football Club was the man of the match. He received a trophy with 10,000 cash. As part of the competition, a match will be held on Wednesday between the organizer Navjan Jagriti Yuva Club Simra and Nepal Police Club, a departmental team of Nepal Police.
