Butwal sub-metropolitan city has distributed padi to the livestock farmers under the milk promotion program. According to the policy and program of the current financial year, distribution of buffalo paddy has been started with 50% subsidy to the farmers.
According to which, 33 padis have been distributed in Butwal 12, 15 and 16 on Sunday. City chief Khelraj Pandey said that to make Butwal strong in dairy production, buffalo padi was distributed through insurance. With the aim of increasing milk production in Butwal, 33 padi were distributed on Sunday and the rest will be distributed gradually, said Jawindra Banjade, Animal and Poultry Development Officer. According to him, in the current financial year, 90 farmers have signed an agreement for paddy subsidy.
Butwal has earlier given 50% subsidy for the purchase of auxiliary milk chilling vats to make farmers self-sufficient in milk and milk products. Milk chilling vat of 1000 liter capacity, half round 3 ton capacity single refrigeration unit, machine with control panel has been provided.
