Request of Lamjung administration to renew arms within 35 days

Various individuals and organizations take permission to keep arms, but since the records of renewal are not found, the administration has published a public notice to renew them within the specified time.

Chief District Officer Budh Bahadur Gurung said that non-renewed firearms are automatically invalid and those who possess illegal firearms will be prosecuted. He said that he can come to the office and renew the arms with him.

According to the administration, in the case of those who have taken the license but have passed the renewal period for more than 5 years, it will not be renewed. As those arms have automatically become illegal, it has been requested to hand over such arms to the administration office. The administration has also requested to hand over the weapons which have not been renewed for 5 years within 35 days.

Chief District Officer Gurung said that a 35-day notice has been issued with effect from Sunday and if it is not renewed within the specified time or if the weapons to be surrendered are not handed over, action will be taken according to law.

According to District Administration Office Lamjung, more than 1000 citizens have decided to keep arms at different times. Of these, only 245 are renewed. According to the administration, 746 arms are not renewed.
