Blind Manisha Sah of Parsa Jagarnathpur rural municipality had a great desire to use a computer. A 12-year-old student studying in Class 6 at Trijuddha School in Birganj, she was curious about computers. Due to being blind, his desire to use a computer could not be fulfilled.

'I can use a computer now,' she said, 'I can use Word and Excel on a computer, I can type in English and Nepali, I can use YouTube, I plan to become a computer engineer in the future.' Shriram Yadav, a one-year-old blind youth, also said that he will be able to use Word, Excel, Power Point, App installation and settings in the one and a half month training.

'Offices are gradually becoming paperless,' he said, 'In this situation, blind people like us can work in offices in the future, after receiving training, we can also train blind people like us in the future.'

trainer Manish Shrestha said that all the visually impaired trainees took the training with great interest. He said that arrangements have been made for the training of blind trainees using the NBDA Narrator software on the computer. Mahesh Sah, Vice President of Youth Empowerment Birgunj, the organizer of the training, said that 30 people with visual disabilities from 16 districts participated in the training.

'We have given priority to those who have not touched a computer in the past, who have not been able to learn,' he said, 'The 45-day residential training has increased the confidence of the trainees, they will benefit a lot from the knowledge of computers in the future.' Rajeshman Singh, mayor of Birgunj metropolis, distributed the certificates. Mayor Singh expressed the hope that the training will help visually impaired youth get employment in the future.
