Ilam Municipality is going to advance the program of 'Skill Up Friday' and declaration of addiction free municipality. City chief Kedar Thapa on Thursday promised to implement the 'Skill Up Friday' program in the municipal area from this year and take the initiative to declare the municipality free from addiction.
A team of leaders and activists including Dujang Sherpa, president of the Nepal Student Association, reached the municipality on Thursday with the demands of the youth and students.
On Thursday, as part of the program of submitting a memorandum to all 753 local levels, the leaders and workers along with Chairman Sherpa reached Ilam municipality. President Sherpa said that on Thursday, the Navy Association submitted a memorandum of the same nature to all 753 local levels.
The union has submitted a 17-point memorandum to make school education completely free, to enhance and upgrade the quality of school education up to the basic and secondary levels in Nepal, and to monitor, study and research the educational situation in the municipality.
In the memorandum, the Union has demanded to implement the 'Skill Up Friday' program to develop skills and practical knowledge for students from the school level. Similarly, most of the schools have been collecting admission fees, examination fees, monthly fees, annual fees, textbook fees, certificate fees and other fees from students and parents. requested to adopt.
The union has also demanded to announce a 'Skill Up Friday' program every Friday. According to the same demand of the union, Mayor Thapa of Ilam municipality said that the municipality will immediately implement the program.
