The Nepal Samajwadi Party (NESPA) has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal demanding the formation of the Budhigandaki Corridor Development Authority for the completion of the Budhigandaki Corridor Multipurpose Project.

Nespa's Memorandum to the Prime Minister - Request to form the Budhigandaki Corridor Development Authority

On Friday, former Prime Minister and party chairman Baburam Bhattarai handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Dahal after reaching the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

In the memorandum, Budhigandaki Corridor Multi-Purpose Project has been demanded to be canceled as a subsidiary company under Electricity Authority. Former Prime Minister Bhattarai informed that the Budhigandaki Corridor Development Authority, which has the right and resources, has been requested to be formed immediately.

Similarly, through the authority, it has been demanded to speed up the entire Budhigandaki Corridor development works. It has been requested through a memorandum to address the legitimate demands of the project-affected citizens as soon as possible. Speaking to

media persons, President Bhattarai said, That is not to make . It will strengthen the suspicions that it could not be done anymore by going back and forth. It will be demolished or even if it is built, it will be made as a small hydropower project. We think that it is going in that direction, so we have seriously raised this issue.'

He said that the government has been requested to bring the Budhi Gandaki Development Authority Act through the Parliament and take it forward. "We have given time until mid-August. If the demand is not met, we will go on a protest together with the concerned people,' he said.

Former Prime Minister Bhattarai warned that if their demands are not met within the month of Bhadra, they will launch a strong protest from October 1st.
