Question of former bar president Khadka: Can Sirohia be arrested for the weakness of government employees?

Khadka also said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane are acting outside the constitutional system in an interaction program organized by Federation of Nepal Journalists and Kantipur Academy branch of Nepal Journalists Federation on Thursday.

He said that the incident of arresting Sirohia raised the suspicion that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister were above the provisions of the constitution.

'We are in constitutional supremacy . We consider the constitution as law. We believe that there is no one greater than the Constitution. It is recognized that we have a written constitution and no one is above the constitution. Is the Home Minister or the Prime Minister above the Constitution? Senior Advocate Khadka said, Kailash Sirohia has done the work of writing the same number in two citizenships. It is the officer who writes that number. The person who gave the number of the first person wrote the same person and the second number was also written by the same person . Do you have to spend so much money to correct the citizenship number?'

Senior advocate Khadka said that it was not necessary to arrest Sirohia to correct the shortcomings of government officials.

We made the constitution . We became a sovereign people . No one should say that Kailash Sirohia should not be investigated . Research should be done . However, the constitution has given him the right to live with dignity! Is it not the case that the police should be placed in his media, and that he should go up and arrest him and take him away? I am saddened by this incident because they did not allow him to live with dignity, did not allow him to live as a Nepali and frustrated the press.

As far as the investigation is concerned, Kailash Sirohia has taken two citizenships under the same citizenship number. They say that a person called on the same number and the next day Kailash Sirohia called on the same number. Did Kailash Sirohia write the same number in two citizenships? Do you have to spend so much money to correct the citizenship number? People should be arrested ? People should be arrested overnight ? Even if Kailash Sirohia was called and asked to correct that. Even if he had been called by cutting a letter, it would have been.

Again, what is the provision in the Citizenship Act now that even if someone has taken both citizenships, the first citizenship will be maintained and a fine of 15,000 rupees will be imposed for taking the second citizenship. There is nothing more than that. Doing such a scandal without moving towards it is nothing but saying that we are above the constitution .

Now I don't want to comment much about Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane. Because we are Nepalis . Our sovereign power is dearer than our lives. How can we expect sovereign power from a person who has given up sovereign power and become an American citizen? What happened bigger than that? He (Ravi Lamichhane) should take the second citizenship, take the third citizenship separately. But, you have given up your citizenship! If you live in America, you become an American citizen, if you live in Nepal, you become a Nepali citizen. He will come to Nepal with an American passport and now he will end the sovereignty by making a big deal. It is unfortunate that we have to live under his rule in matters of the country.

Good people should be brought to run this power . People who love Nepal should be brought. A message should be conveyed that people who want to renounce their Nepali citizenship should not do so. I am sorry for what has happened.
