Corruption case against Vikal Poudel on the charge of obtaining permanent residence permit of the United States

He became the executive director of Poudel Center contrary to the legal system that foreign resident permit holders cannot hold any public office in Nepal. The authority has filed a case on this charge. Now the charge sheet of the authority is being filed.

Poudel was the executive director of the center for 2 terms and once became the executive director of the National Information Technology Center. Last time, when he was the Executive Director of Security Printing Center, the Authority filed a case on corruption charges in the purchase of security printing equipment on May 3, 2080 . Poudel's case is also yet to be resolved. While the

case was under consideration, on January 10th, the authority arrested him and the suspended managing director of Nepal Telecom, Sunil Paudel, for illegal acquisition of assets and operating accounts in foreign banks without permission. Swimming is under control now. Among the facts observed during the same investigation, the issue of obtaining an American permanent residence permit has also been brought forward as a case.

This is the charge sheet of the authority

A charge sheet was filed against Vikal Poudel, who was working as the then Executive Director (currently suspended) of Surakshan Mudran Kendra, Sinha Darwar, for corruption by submitting false information.

Vikal Poudel, who was working as the then Executive Director of Surakshan Printing Center, Sinhdarwar, obtained a permanent residence permit from abroad contrary to the provisions of Article 291 of the Constitution of Nepal and was holding a government/public position without submitting the details by self-declaration. During the investigation related to the complaint petition, the provision in Article 291 of the Constitution of Nepal, Article 61(2)(c) of the Civil Service Act, 2049 and the appointment of officers and members of public bodies affiliated to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. And the nomination criteria, against the provisions of section 11 of 2073, Mr. Vikal Poudel has self-declared that he has not obtained a temporary residence permit from abroad for the purpose of receiving benefits and facilities while holding the position of executive director at Surakshan Printing Center. It is confirmed that the defendant has obtained benefits and facilities as a national servant while holding the position of a national servant by hiding the said information and giving false information even after obtaining the legal permanent residence permit of the United States of America while the status is occupied. Since the act of Vikal Paudel is a criminal act according to sub-section (1) of section 16 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, he should be punished with imprisonment and fine as per sub-section (1) of section 16 of the same act and the official appointed as the executive director of Surakshan Printing Center. Since he has committed the offense as per the above-mentioned demand under Chapter 2 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 (Provisions on Crimes and Punishment of Corruption), a charge sheet has been filed today in the Special Court, Kathmandu, with the demand that Vikal Paudel be further punished in accordance with Section 24 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059. has been filed.
