Nepal Police Club reached the semi-finals of the Jagdamba Steel 14th Jeetpursimra Gold Cup football tournament on Wednesday. In the quarter finals held at Simra Stadium on Wednesday night, the police stunned the host Navajanajagriti Yuva Club on its own ground.

Police beat the hosts by 2-1 and secured a place in the last four.

Ujjwal Rai scored both goals in Police's victory, while Mohit Gurung scored from the penalty spot for the host team. In the third minute of the

game, the police took the lead against the hosts. With the support of the organizers, Ujjwal got off to a great start, disappointing the nearly 8,000 home fans present at the Simra Stadium. Ujjwal scored a goal through the pass of Sujan Magar who managed to beat the defenders of the host from the right corner area.

The hosts, who were under pressure from the beginning, returned to the game by scoring a penalty in the fifth minute of the game. After Police Club's Neeraj Khadka fouled Mohit Gurung of the host team inside the box, FIFA referee Prajwal Thapamgar gave the host a penalty opportunity. Mohit Gurung scored through penalty and brought the hosts equal. In the 19th minute of the game, Ujjwal scored a goal and doubled the lead of the police. Ujjwal, who beat the defender of the host from outside the box and advanced the ball, scored an excellent goal and doubled the lead of the team.

The goal scored in the first half of the competitive match was decisive in the victory of Police. Both teams fought till the end. Both teams created attractive opportunities in the game but failed to add goals. In the 11th minute of the match, Police's Ujjwal Rai wasted the opportunity in the penalty area. game, the hosts missed a beautiful opportunity to score. Defender Shishir Choudhary cleared the goal line with an excellent header when Neeraj Karki had already beat the police goalkeeper.

Police's Ashish Rai wasted an opportunity to make it 1-0 in the 88th minute. Ashish, who advanced the ball alone from the middle, missed the finish and the defender of the host managed to stop the ball.

He received a trophy with Rs 10,000 sponsored by Shubharambha College of Management. On Thursday, the last quarterfinal will be between Nepal APF Club and Friends Club.
