Five foreign tourists who came to visit Manang, a dangerous district, were rescued after falling ill after being exposed to the lake. They were rescued from Nason rural municipality-7 Bhimtang under Manaslu road on Monday.

Chief District Officer Subas Kumar Lamichhane informed that five tourists who were going to Larkepass were rescued. According to him, tourists were rescued from Bhimtang by helicopter. He was brought to Chame and sent to Kathmandu after general treatment.

Two from South Africa, two from New Zealand and one guide were rescued, said Prazia Lamichhane. He said that after the tourists fell ill after going to the lake, they were rescued by helicopter and taken for treatment.

'I urge tourists to be careful because they can get sick if the temperature is not right. As there is a lack of availability of vehicles for traveling here, caution should be taken,' he said.
