The fire has been brought under control after 7 hours in Jaralhawa Gachi village of Matihani Municipality-6. The fire has reduced the entire village of the poor community to ashes. According to the municipality, the fire started at 12 o'clock and was brought under control by 7 o'clock.
Miatol and Hatta Tolk Mayor Hariprasad Mandal informed that 110 houses were completely burnt to ashes.
Matihani Municipality, Jaleshwar Municipality, Ramgopalpur Municipality, Provincial Police Office Janakpur along with the efforts of the Nepalese Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police, Matihani Municipality staff and the locals said that the fire was brought under control.
The chief district officer of Mahottari, Shivram Gelal, said that the property of the local people along with cattle and cattle were completely burnt in the burnt settlement, but now the exact details of the damage cannot be said.
In terms of where and how to manage the fire victims, Gelal said that arrangements will be made for them to stay in schools and hospices with the necessary relief as they are coordinating with the Red Cross and various agencies.
Mayor Mandal has requested everyone to help the people of Matihani with a great calamity.
