In the first inter-province national sports competition, Wagmati province became the first with 140 medals. The competition ended on Sunday without the participation of the departmental team. While Wagmati was ranked first, Sudurpaschim was second, Koshi was third, Gandaki was fourth, Lumbini was fifth, Karnali was sixth and Madhesh Pradesh was seventh.

In the tournament organized by Wagmati Pradesh Sports Development Council, all the games except men's football were conducted in Bharatpur of neighboring district Chitwan.

Koshi region won the gold medal on Sunday in the men's football finals held at Gouritar located in Hetaunda-6. Koshi defeated Wagmati by 1-0 goal difference. The only decisive goal for Koshi was scored by Nikhil Tamang in the second half of the game through a free kick. Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel presented the trophy to Wagmati who won 139 medals including 61 gold, 42 silver and 36 bronze in the

competition. He also promised to make the competition more organized and competitive from the next edition. Along with women's volleyball, Wagmati won 9/9 in boxing and karate, 7/7 in taekwondo and athletics, 27 in swimming and one in badminton.

Sudurpaschim is in second place with a total of 71 medals with 21 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze, while third place Koshi province has won 75 medals with 16 gold, 23 silver and 36 bronze. Gandaki province has won a total of 49 medals including 11 gold, 18 silver and 20 bronze. Lumbini won 55 medals including 11 gold, 16 silver and 28 bronze, while Karnali province won 45 medals including 11 gold, 10 silver and 24 bronze. Madhesh Province, which is at the bottom of the points table, has won 21 medals including 3 gold, 3 silver and 15 bronze. 1,785 players, coaches, technical team, judges and 2,730 players from 7 provinces participated in the

competition for various games.
