Hima rural municipality of Jumla has included the Raithane crop protection program as a priority in the policy and program. Raithane is going to start a crop protection program to discourage the food coming from outside the mountains after the food containing pesticides started coming in recently.
Vice President Supurna Shahi, while presenting the policy and program and budget, said that farmers will be involved in the Raithane crop protection campaign.
Vice President Shahi has said that the use of pesticides in agricultural production will be prohibited in the coming year. Laxman Bahadur Shahi, the chairman of the municipality, said that the policy of encouraging farmers to cultivate herbs in the Himalayas, and to conduct climate adaptation programs to save people and land from drought has also been taken.
Chairman Shahi said that a policy of providing scholarships of up to 10 lakh rupees per person for higher education MBBS, engineering, pilots and master nursing studies for women has been taken.
