The Indian border of East and West Nawalparasi will be closed for 48 hours. The borders are going to be closed in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Balmiki Nagar and Champaran of Bharat Vihar.

Indian border at Nawalparasi closed for 48 hours from Thursday

The district administration office of East and West Nawalparasi has issued a notification and informed that all the checkpoints in the district will be closed from 6 am on May 10th to 6 pm on May 12th.

Assistant Chief District Officer of West Nawalparasi Dhuvra Bahadur Kunwar said that the border was closed keeping in mind the security sensitivity of Lok Sabha General Election 2024 to be held in India.

In view of the election, the security arrangements have been tightened at the border crossings towards Nepal and India.
