Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Dolprasad Aryal has observed the telemedicine service being operated by the Foreign Employment Board for the workers.

Minister Aryal's directive to make telemedicine services more efficient

Minister Aryal, who reached Veer Hospital on Wednesday, directed to make telemedicine services more effective. Recently, the Ministry of Labor started telemedicine service through the board after increasing health problems among Nepali workers who are employed abroad. The

board has launched the service from Chait 10, 2079. The board has been operating this service from Veer Hospital itself. Workers can get this service by contacting them through social networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Bhiwar, Emo. Taking information about telemedicine services, Minister Aryal said that this service will be made more efficient and effective. In collaboration with

board, Veer Hospital has been operating this service from 10 am to 6 pm. Medical officers and health assistants are deployed regularly for telemedicine services. Specialist doctors are also provided on Fridays and Sundays of every week depending on the health problems of the workers.

Currently, 25 to 30 workers are taking telemedicine services daily. So far, Nepalese workers in 18 countries have taken telemedicine services. The hospital has provided 11 different types of health services. Till February of the current financial year 2080/81, 1,632 workers have taken telemedicine services.

of which 394 from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia 310, UAE 192, Qatar 175, Kuwait 171, Korea 157, Oman 57, Cyprus 53, Japan 40, Romania 35, Bahrain 12, Zambia 10, Germany 9, Maldives 7, Iraq 4, Malta 3, UK 10 and one worker from Africa have taken telemedicine services. 400 workers have been provided with health and medicine counseling through telemedicine services.

Surgery consultation for 273 people, 183 orthopedic, 217 people for ENT, 125 skin related, 235 mental problems, 19 eye related, 31 dental related, 42 people related to stomach, 44 Urology related and 63 other various health services have been provided to Jana.
