The year 2062 was waving goodbye. The country was gripped and heated by the freedom movement. I was in Kathmandu for a few months after completing the BBS first year exam, studying for the second year and looking for a job. I was not getting a very good job.

Those three bullets taken in Baneshwar during the democratic protest...

There was a compulsion to change marketing jobs. Kathmandu's income was bound to last. Some months have to pay the expenses from home It was a must.

Neighboring countries were competing to see who would surpass whom in the rapid development. Unfortunately, we were caught in political instability . We were going to a critical situation day by day in all economic and social aspects.

In order to end the 38-year autocratic panchayat system that kept the Nepali society in exploitation, oppression and darkness, the multi-party system obtained after the people's movement of 2046 years after the long sacrifice, struggle and sacrifice of the Nepalese people was dissolved by the former king Gyanendra Shah on 8th May 2059 .

The royal 'Ku' of 19th January 2061 pushed the country towards more confusion . His autocratic actions frustrated many issues of human rights including civil liberties, rule of law, freedom of the press. The monarchy that has ruled Nepal for 238 years and treated the citizens of this country as peasants . There has been rapid development in other countries that have a monarchy like ours. But the misfortune of Nepal is that the monarchy of Nepal was always fighting among themselves in the battle of power. Sukh Sayal and Mojamasti have been living for 238 years . The resources of the state should be used for their Bhai Bhardar continued to exploit for his rights . For their own power interests, they allowed foreign intervention. The Nepali people are deprived of basic needs like electricity, education, health and employment. As a result, Nepal became known as a poor country in the world.

Society is dynamic. Society does not always remain in the same state. In view of the changing situation of the world, the Nepali people started raising voices of opposition to King Gyanendra's despotic action with the expectation of change. Civil society, political parties, youth, students, various professionals' anti-monarchy movement had become routine in Kathmandu.

As I have a job in marketing, every day I participate in such public meetings and listen to the speeches of various political leaders and civil society leaders. Being a conscious citizen will change the destiny and future of this country. And, The feeling that if a developing country is to be handed over to future generations, the monarchy must end, I had a very deep feeling in my mind.

My family background may have also played a role in instilling that kind of consciousness in me . It may be because of the political gossip in our house since childhood and my father and uncles were politically connected. After the 12-point agreement between the then seven political parties and the armed warring CPN-Maoist against the various anti-people actions of King Gyanendra on 7th Mansir 062, there was a nationwide movement. The general strike started on the 24th of Chaitra 2062 on the call of seven political parties. Since we were sitting in a room in Kathmandu in the morning, my friend and I would cook a quick meal and sometimes we would eat in our friends' room and start participating in the movement programs held in various places in Kathmandu .

Our movement sometimes took place at Koteshwar Chowk and sometimes at various places including Baneshwar Chowk. We can also have a strong desire for change and a youthful zeal . We were always in the forefront in every program of the movement. The participation of people in the programs of the movement was increasing day by day. The royal government at that time was brutally suppressing the movement.

On the day of Chaitra 27, 2062, my friend and I woke up early in the morning and left for the protest program around 9 am. On behalf of seven political parties and civil society, a large public meeting was scheduled to be held on the 27th of Chaitra in Basantpur of the capital.

The previous day, according to my friend's advice, it was advised to go to a large public meeting in Vasantpur . But as the movement intensified day by day, the then royal government issued a curfew order targeting the Vasantpur program. As a result, the assembly of Wabasantpur could not be held. Although the order of curfew was issued, people started disobeying the curfew in various places of the capital and protesting.

In the inner streets of Kathmandu's Minbhavan and other areas, people were gathering and raising various loud slogans against the monarchy. We also participated in it . Even in the 21st century, it was natural for the blood to boil within us for the end of such a hypocritical and unscientific system that does not require his qualifications nor does he have to live in any legal framework based on being born in a clan.

according to which we stood at the forefront of the movement of that day . Expecting the end of autocracy and the creation of a new Nepal with lasting peace, we were recklessly involved in the movement. We were in the Baneshwar river, and the police were in a repressive position in Koteshwar across the river. Around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the crowd of people in the protest was unmanageable. Suddenly the police started arresting some of the protestors and the protest got excited . The police started to beat the arrested person with sticks to the point of death. The movement became more and more excited. Tear gas was fired by the police. The mood of the protest was such that the protestors started throwing tear gas fired by the police towards the police. The policemen are also getting more and more excited Gone. They started shooting at the protestors. I was at the forefront of the movement. I thought it was the shot fired by the police. After the bullet entered my body, I did not see anything there . I fell to the ground . Immediately I reached a state of semi-consciousness .

The next day, on 28th Chaitra 2063, when I came to Hos, I found myself in the B&B Hospital in Kathmandu. There were three bullets in different parts of my body. Some friends have taken me to the hospital. I was reborn in this world after the tireless efforts of the doctors and nurses and eight/ten hours of surgery. I found myself immobilized in both my legs due to bullet damage to the spinal cord.

After some time one of my legs started to move but My other leg is completely paralyzed. Due to a foot drop, I am able to do some walking without an aid. In the early days, my family and I cried and screamed when we lost an important part of our body. However, with the sympathy shown by friends, relatives, doctors, nurses, various personalities, associations, organizations, I forgot all the pain. It felt like getting that love and affection - there is a real need for change in the country.

While staying in the hospital, the movement was getting louder and louder. A huge crowd was coming out on the streets . 24 people lost their lives during the protest. Thousands of people were injured. As a result, Gyanendra announced the restoration of parliament on 11 Baisakh 2063 after some of Gyanendra's wisdom was not heard in front of the people. Baisakh 11th 2063 is one of the happiest moments of my life. When I was in the hospital, I used to read newspaper every morning . On the 11th of Baisakh, as usual, father had gone out to get the newspaper . When he came with the newspaper, the father was coming in a different and cheerful posture than before . A distinct glow could be seen on his face. As soon as he saw me, he shouted from far away - 'Democracy has been announced.'

There was no limit to my happiness. When I hurriedly took the newspaper from my father's hand, the top of the Kantipur newspaper was written in red letters, 'Janata Jeet'.

When I saw that, tears fell from my eyes without realizing it . Father and mother could not hold back their tears. Everyone in the hospital congratulated me. The doctors and nurses of the hospital congratulated me with happiness. I was so happy because of all this happening . I have never felt so happy in my life. When I returned home to Hetaunda on June 14, 2063, after staying in the hospital for almost two and a half months of medical treatment, all the people of the village were sitting in my house knowing that I was coming. Everyone greeted me with flower garlands after I got off the car . Everyone in that crowd was filled with happy tears. It didn't stop even from my eyes .

It has been 18 years since democracy was declared in the country. In the meantime, there has been a big change in the politics of the country as well as in my life. People's party constitution written by people's representatives elected by the people has been obtained . The system of being the ruler of this country, regardless of the birth of a clan, is the end of the democratic system in which the son of the people elected by the people will run the government and if he is not accountable to the country and the people, he will be expelled by the people is . The local elections, which have not been held for years, have been held twice and the people have obtained a strong local government through their votes. Backward classes including women, Dalits, tribal tribes, Madhesi have been ensured proportional representation in every field since the formulation of state policy.

The right of anyone to speak openly about the shortcomings of leaders and leadership has been ensured by the constitution and is being used by the people.

It can be seen from various statistics that things like education, health development and construction have improved in many ways compared to yesterday. However, the political turmoil seen in the middle has surely cast a pall over the youth. Since the state is unable to create jobs on a large scale, millions of youth are forced to go abroad for employment. Everyone's mind is confused by political strife, power interests and fighting etc. .

is a democracy obtained by the sacrifice of hundreds of years and thousands. This is not an easy arrangement. Seeing the current government's ability to create its environment by supporting autocracy from various angles, the hearts of the families of martyrs and thousands of injured people of the movement are broken.
