CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that UML should take the leadership of the provincial government in Karnali. Pokharel, who reached Surkhet to inaugurate the ninth session of UML Surkhet District Committee, claimed that UML will lead Karnali along with the changing political equation.
"Maoist has led for a long time, now Maoist should accept the leadership of UML," he said, 'UML is yet to be tested in Karnali.'
Apart from Madhesh and Karnali, UML has already led the government in the remaining 5 provinces. He argued that it is not necessary for the leaders of Karnali to run to the center for the leadership of the state government. "Even in Karnali, the first party of people's choice is CPN-UML". We are not weak based on people's opinion. We are in second place in national politics. We are 10 seats less than the first party Nepali Congress. But, from the point of view of the people, from the point of view of the people's choice, we are above the Congress,' he said.
He says that the economy is in crisis because the previous coalition government tried to nurture the illegal economy by weakening the legal economy of Nepal.
