Disability does not prevent you from becoming a hard worker

On the one hand, when he was disabled, he suffered immense suffering, on the other hand, he had to receive scorn and distant treatment from his relatives. Even so, he has been working hard every day without losing courage.

He has also become an efficient parent who does not hesitate to help others by earning enough. His daughter Mamta, who has passed class 12, is currently a player in the Tribhuvan Army Club of the Nepali Army. A taekwondo player, she represented Nepal and participated in the games held in India. Son Manoj is studying in class-10.

In our society that looks down on the disabled, he was also looked down on. To some extent, he had to get unpleasant reactions from his relatives while getting married. "After I got the girl, I even had to listen to them trying to return me saying that I can't adopt them," he recalls, "I assured my girlfriend that I can adopt her, that we will both be adopted." . He did not look back after working hard to run the business. In the midst of disability, he delivers vegetables daily to the homes of the residents of the capital. Be it early in the morning or late in the evening, he goes to everyone's house with vegetables and fruits in the basket.

He has been trading vegetables and fruits for two decades. He has been distributing vegetables and fruits for free to the disabled, helpless, children and the elderly.

When he was studying in class 6, he fell from a tree and got a serious injury on his leg. One leg became immobile. After treatment, he was able to walk to some extent, but he had to become a cripple. After falling from a tree and becoming crippled, he had to drop out of school. Having lost his father at a young age, he had no choice but to drop out of school with a disabled life and support his mother to run the household. He chose to experience life rather than study. He is the only one of 3 sisters and 1 sister, his sisters love him very much.

Bhakti Ram's shop has been at the corner of Tudikhel for the past 2 decades. He is a wholesaler of imported vegetables and fruits. While his wife Kamala is helping him in the shop, he goes to the market with fruits and vegetables in a basket. He thinks to himself - if you work hard, you can get success. The success achieved by Bhakti Ram is truly enticing. At first, the relatives were worried about the disability. Mother Hemadevi says, 'One son was crippled by it. I was so worried at first. But he is capable enough to live without going to school.'

Bhaktiram remembers the situation where he was unable to believe in himself at the beginning. "No matter what people say to me", he says, "I started working hard since I found out that I am disabled." I have progressed by working hard.'' He also showed success in front of the society by working hard. He built two concrete houses in the market with his hard earned money.

He was able to teach his children and he was also able to live with high self-esteem. Hard work is the reason for success. He has a habit of working late in the evening and before dawn. When he reaches the yard after pushing the vegetables in the basket, the consumers are waiting for him. His regular client Libang-based advocate Damodar Prasad Subedi responds, "He is a hard-working person who has overcome his disability and achieved success in the society. Our society should learn to work hard from him.'

Similarly, in the opinion of health worker and social leader KB Dangi of Libang, Bhaktiram is an unstoppable youth, who has succeeded in showing everyone an example that hard work can be rewarded in the society.

Bhakti Ram has gone through many ups and downs to reach this state. Bhaktiram can tell those moments well. Even though he has a disability, everyone's perspective on him has changed. Those who know about him say - work like Bhakti Rama and progress like Bhakti Rama.

While helping those who are suffering, they distributed free vegetables to many people during the corona crisis. Since they are also in the business of fruits, they give fruits as gifts to the children and old people who come near them. It is his nature to love the elderly with respect. After his disability, he used to stand on the side of the road carrying a weight measuring machine, but he succeeded in making progress through hard work.

Apart from vegetable business, he likes to read spiritual books. There is a habit of reading religious books. He has read many books like Mahabharata, Gita, Shrimad Bhagwat, Vedas, Puranas etc. Although he could not read in his childhood, he did not stop studying himself.

He has created about 5 dozen poems so far. He recites his creations by heart at any time. Some creations are published and broadcast in local newspapers and radio. He believes that creation gives knowledge, message and awareness.
