Salin's murder or suicide?

Although the police said that a serious investigation is ongoing, the family members of the deceased are not convinced . They have not only claimed that this incident was not a suicide but a murder, but they have also taken a stand to find out the truth about the incident and demand justice. Lalit Pokharel, the father of the deceased, said, "His death is not natural based on the initial information that came to us." We think that the murder took place after the rape.'

Though she belonged to a Gorkha family, she was staying at her maternal uncle's house in Ratnanagar-15 Madhavpur. After the divorce of his parents, his mother was under his guardianship . According to the family, Salin's parents divorced when she was three and a half years old. After the incident, the mother, who was in Dubai for foreign employment, has returned to Nepal. In a telephone conversation with Kantipur, Babu Lalit, who is in Kathmandu, said that despite the divorce, both of them are bearing the expenses of their daughter's education.

Salin had been studying for the past two years sitting in a dormitory on the third floor of a three-story building. According to the school administration, five female students and 26 male students were living separately in the dormitory. The administration has said that there is a channel gate between the male and female dormitories. Three days after the incident i.e. last Tuesday, the police arrested the principal of the school Balhari Devkota, assistant professor Kamal Sharma Paudel and the hostel in-charge Kiran Bahadur Adhikari . They have been detained by the court for seven days for investigation.

The family of the deceased is suspecting that the police delayed the investigation . The father of the deceased, Lalit, said, "The police were very reluctant to arrest them." We did not do the post-mortem in Bharatpur even though we thought that justice would not be served in this case. We brought it to Kathmandu and did the post-mortem. But we won't do it until we get justice.''

When the police initially asked to file a complaint in the case of death rather than filing a complaint, it seems that the police and the family of the deceased started doubting. DSP Bhandari said, "In order to conduct an open investigation of the incident, even if the complaint is not filed in the beginning, after filing the investigation complaint, based on what is seen during the investigation, the case is also issued and the case is prosecuted." That's what we said. It's not that they don't want to take the complaint.' Babu Lalit said on Tuesday that he found Salin's body and performed an autopsy on Wednesday in Kathmandu. The police said that despite the information that an autopsy has been conducted, the report has not been received.

The school was closed after the incident. Even though classes from class 8 to 12 have started from Friday, classes below class 8 have not resumed . Mohan Pandey, a member of the school's teacher-parent association, said, "There have been many things about this." The truth should come out by resolving everything. This issue should be resolved in a fair manner as soon as possible.'
