Tricon Cricket Club has won the title of the Maxi Max Nav Cup organized by Nepalese community teams in Melbourne, Victoria. In the final of the tournament organized by Nepali Association Victoria (NAV), Trikal defeated expert Everest Blues Cricket Club by 6 wickets.

In the final at the Jesse Doneth Reserve in Melbourne, Tricon completed the target of 155 runs in 15.5 overs . Along with the title, Tricon received 5,000 Australian dollars, a trophy and runner-up Everest received 1,500 dollars, a trophy and a medal. 17 teams participated in the tournament played by players of Nepali national team including Sunil Dhamala, Kishore Mahato, Sagar Khadka. Sagar Khadka of Brighton Cricket Club became the player of the series of the

tournament while Sanjog Dahal of Tricon was declared the player of the match in the final match. Sagar also became an excellent batsman. Shekhar Aryal was the best bowler and Ravindra Gurung was the best fielder.

President of NAB Premraj Upreti said that NAB is establishing brotherhood among the Nepalese community through sports and encouraging new players with talent to create opportunities in the mainstream. He said that this year's Nav Cup was a success and said that such competitions will give Nepali players more enthusiasm for the game. The competition was main sponsored by Maximax Education and Migration and co-sponsored by Holmes Institute .

NAV organized a gala dinner last Sunday and distributed prizes to the winning team and players. At the gala dinner after the final, Chatur Bahadur Chand, president of the Nepali Cricket Association (CAN), as well as Nepal's national players, Kushal Malla and Dipendrasingh Airi, were honored for their contribution to the development of Nepali cricket and bringing it to the world. In the event, CAN President Chand said that they are happy to collaborate with NAYV, while cricketers KC and Airy mentioned that they are happy to come here and share their experience.

Last November, there was an agreement to provide support to promote Nepali cricket in the cricket tournament organized by NAB and Cannbeach NAB. According to the same agreement, about 5000 dollars collected through charity was also transferred to Can, while both players were given 4500 Australian dollars.

Nepali Ambassador to Australia Kailashraj Pokharel, Victoria's unpaid Consul General Chandra Yonjan, MPs and leaders of local political parties, Amimul Islam, Development Manager of International Cricket Council, Shankar Dharel, Director of Maximax Education, the main sponsor, Indra Adhikari of Holmes College, co-sponsor and others participated.
