In Dhankuta Municipality-9 Salleri, a house was damaged when a forest fire broke out in the settlement on Thursday.
The police said that the crude one-storey house of local Chandra Bahadur Magar was completely destroyed. The fire in Salleri community forest engulfed Magar's house at around five o'clock in the evening. The fire was brought under control after 45 minutes with the efforts of policemen and locals from Velhara police post.
The police said that everything inside the house, including food, was destroyed by fire. It is said that more than a dozen houses have been damaged by fire in the district in the last one month.
